Ellis Aldridge - Singer/songwriter

Ellis is a popular singer/entertainer located on the Mid North Coast of NSW, Australia. You are likely to catch him performing somewhere most weekends, either busking at the markets or at paid gigs.

They say that every face tells a story and, as you can see, Ellis has got a few miles under his belt. Whilst he's been playing guitar and singing since the early sixty's, it wasn't until he retired from the 9-5 world that he re-discovered the joys of making music and being on stage. 'Though his voice has matured into a mellow country style, he can still knock out some hot R&R. This stems from his early days in boy-bands during the sixtys' when he was the bass player in the "Telstars" (later the Telmen).

In the past twelve months he formed an R&R band called "Bluedog" comprising Lead guitar, Bass and Drums with Ellis on Rythm guitar and sharing the vocals with other band members. At the present time he is concentrating on solo work, honing his skills as a singer and songwriter.

Ellis' music has been influenced by many great country singers, with Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson being foremost, though his tastes cover many styles and types, including Bluegrass, Australian & Celtic folk and pop.

He currently enjoys the so called "Americana" or "Alternative Country" styles of artists such as Steve Earl, Kevin Welch, Kearin Kane, Gillian Welch. His Ozzy favourites would be John Williamson, Slim Dusty, Casy Chambers, Bill Chambers and Eric Bogle.
